Privacy without the nonsense.
WereLinks is designed around a simple principle: we don't want personal information we don't need.
To create a WereLinks account, we need your email address and a way to verify your password when you sign in.
We do not store your password.
Your password is processed using a cryptographic password-hashing function, and WereByte stores the resulting salted password hash. Your original password cannot simply be retrieved from our database.
Beyond the information necessary to operate your account, WereLinks stores the things you intentionally create in the service—such as your dashboards, card links, and preferences—so they are available when you return.
1. What We Don't Want
WereLinks is not designed to build a profile of your life. We do not need information such as your full name, home address, phone number, date of birth, gender, contacts, or precise location to provide the core WereLinks service.
If WereLinks doesn't need information to provide the service, our preference is not to collect it in the first place.
2. What We Store
Account information. For registered accounts, WereLinks stores your email address, a salted cryptographic password hash used to verify your password, your account level, and information necessary to administer your account.
Your WereLinks data. WereLinks stores the dashboards, card links, settings, preferences, and related information you create or configure so the service can save and restore your WereLinks setup.
Authentication information. When you sign in, WereLinks uses authentication information such as a randomly generated session identifier and session expiration information to keep you signed in and associate your browser session with your account.
We use this information to operate WereLinks—not to create an advertising profile about you.
3. Guest Use
You can use WereLinks as a Guest without creating an account.
Guest data is temporary and is not intended to be permanently stored as account data. Changes made while using WereLinks as a Guest may be lost when the page is refreshed, the browser is closed, or the Guest session otherwise ends.
4. We Don't Sell Your Personal Information
WereByte does not sell your personal information.
We do not operate WereLinks as a data brokerage business.
We do not sell your email address.
We do not sell your dashboards or card links.
We do not sell a profile of your WereLinks activity to advertisers.
Your data is there to make WereLinks work. It is not the product.
5. How We Use Information
We use information associated with WereLinks to provide and maintain the service, authenticate accounts, save your dashboards and card links, remember your preferences, administer account levels and subscriptions, protect the service from abuse or unauthorized access, troubleshoot problems, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not need to know more about you than is reasonably necessary to operate WereLinks.
6. Cookies and Sessions
WereLinks uses a session cookie to keep registered users signed in. This cookie is necessary for account authentication and operation of the signed-in service.
The WereLinks session cookie is not used to create an advertising profile about you.
7. Service Providers
WereByte may use third-party infrastructure and service providers when necessary to host, secure, operate, maintain, or support WereLinks. Those providers may process limited information on WereByte's behalf as necessary to provide their services.
WereByte does not authorize service providers to sell your personal information on our behalf.
8. Legal Requirements and Protection of the Service
WereByte may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful government request.
We may also use or disclose information when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or attempts to interfere with WereLinks, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of WereByte, WereLinks users, or others.
9. Data Security
WereByte takes reasonable measures designed to protect WereLinks accounts, user data, and the systems used to provide the service.
Passwords are not stored in their original form. WereLinks stores a salted cryptographic password hash used for password verification.
No internet-connected service, database, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. WereByte therefore cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, cyberattacks, security vulnerabilities, or other security incidents will never occur.
10. Data Retention and Account Deletion
WereByte may retain account information and WereLinks data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, satisfy applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service.
When account-deletion functionality is available, applicable deletion procedures and any information that must be retained for legal, security, or administrative reasons will be described as part of that process.
11. Children
WereLinks is not intended to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If WereByte learns that personal information has been collected in circumstances where parental consent or another legal requirement applies and has not been satisfied, we will take appropriate steps to address the information as required by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Websites
WereLinks allows you to create card links to third-party websites and online services. Those websites are not operated by WereByte and have their own privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy applies to WereLinks and WereByte's handling of information. It does not govern the privacy practices of websites you visit through a WereLinks card link.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
WereByte may update this Privacy Policy as WereLinks develops, our practices change, or applicable requirements change.
When this policy is updated, we will update the effective date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
